Pain, Patience, and a Secret Project: Navigating Life with a Broken Hip
My medical journey continues with complications during the back medication pump trial and ongoing severe hip pain that's keeping me bedridden and on multiple pain medications. I'm home now but facing important decisions about potential surgeries to address these persistent health challenges.
• Currently using an adjustable bed at home while dealing with severe pain from a broken hip
• Back medication pump trial unsuccessful due to anatomical challenges—may require general anesthesia for next attempt
• Doctor's appointment scheduled for Wednesday to discuss potential hip surgery options
• Working on a secret personal project to maintain mental sharpness before returning to school
• Pain management appointment scheduled for August 11th to explore additional relief options
• Will provide updates next week about surgery decisions and progress
Thank you for following my journey. I'll keep you updated on social media and future episodes about my hip surgery status and recovery process.
Welcome to A Winning Hunt. You guys I will beat I won't beat Amanda Bush. I will just cut straight to the facts there. I have two pieces of good news and one piece of bad news. Good news and one piece of bad news. I will start out with the piece of okay news. That may be bad news, but it's okay news for right now and it basically is remember how I said I would keep you updated on my back lemon pump trial, my medication pump trial.
Speaker 1:Well, they couldn't even get the dose that they needed into me because my back is and was such a mess and they poked me and poked me, and poked me, and poked me. So then we're actually thinking of knocking me out to do it yes, general anesthesia to do it. And so they can poke me, me, and I don't feel it, because what they do is they actually leave the person awake and give you lidocaine. Yeah right, and most people don't have a broken hip while doing it, but lucky me, I have a broken hip while doing it, but lucky me, I have a broken hip while doing it. So, and the part they were looking for just kept literally escaping my sack at the bottom of my spine kept literally escaping escaping on Friday. So they're thinking about putting me under so that I don't have to feel anything.
Speaker 1:The two pieces of good news is when I'm home. The second piece of good news is I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and we'll see what he wants to do on that front. If surgery is on the table to fix my hip, I will do that because I need to get out of this pain. I need to get out of a hospital bed. I'm now in an adjustable bed myself and I need to get out of an adjustable bed. I need to get out of a distable bed. I need to get out of this pain because it's so bloody painful and I'm on every pain medication under the sun and strong ones till. So I actually have an appointment tomorrow morning, august 11th, at 7 to the am with pain management. So, yeah, I need to deal with this and deal with it quick, and so that is that.
Speaker 1:And basically and I'm working on a secret project which I'll let you guys in on next week, because I need to be working on something before I go back to school and I need to be working on something to keep my mind sharp, and so, yes, I'm working on a secret project that I just and no, dan Lee, I was not involved in this secret project, it's just going to be me doing it, and so we'll see how the secret project turns out. I need to work on it this week. I also need to do some stuff for school which I push back until September. So, yeah, but I'm like, can this pain get over with? Because if you've ever had broken anything, no and no, the pain I'm talking about, especially broken hips when you have broken hips, not so fun. So yeah, so anyway, we'll be back next week and I'll give you more of an update on surgeries, update on surgeries, and I'll give you more of an update on my hip surgery and then more of an update on the back, limb and pump trial surgery, if they decide to knock me out to do it. But I will definitely give you more of an update on the hip surgery.
Speaker 1:I am just in incredible pain and, yeah, don't break your hips, you guys, guys, it's not fun. So, anyway, thank you for following us. Yeah, thank you for following us. Oh, what a cute thank you for following us. And then I will keep you guys updated via podcast, via all social media, as to say whether I'm having hip surgery or not. Hopefully, that's the plan.
Speaker 1:I want hip surgery. I want to get this pain over and done with. It's gone, on and on and on. It's like the song that never ends. And so I just want hip surgery. And, yes, I will keep you guys updated on the progress of my hip and I will keep you guys updated whether surgery is happening or not. I am 99% positive it is, even though my doctor is saying let's avoid cutting the window open again. But I need someone to help me and help me quick. And so we're going to I'm going to sign up for hip surgery on Wednesday and get it approved. And then all that fun stuff buy insurance, get it approved. And all that fun stuff, buy insurance, get it approved, buy insurance. But I'll let you know what goes on. So thank you for following us and we'll catch you guys next week. Bye you guys, bye.
