A doctor gets told to keep patients. He tries to discharge them. That moment captures a bigger tension inside modern mental health care and it’s what finally pushed Dr. Fred to step away from conventional practice and lean fully into what he calls “restorative care” as an “undoctor.”

Welcome And Meet Dr. Fred

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Ask Win everyone. Today was may I have Dr. Fred with me and I'm going Dr. Fred take it away and explain his story.

SPEAKER_00

Well, hello, yeah. So uh it's great to be here and so I'm not sure what you need from my story exactly. If I had the are we uh asking the base questions, or do you want a history of who I am or what is it that you're asking exactly, please?

Why He Became A Doctor

SPEAKER_01

I want the history of why you got why you got into the medical the medical field and then out of the medical field.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, so I went into the medical field because I was very interested in helping people. That's what I really thought medical field would do, is that I figured that that was the highest honor to go in and become a doctor and help people. But what I learned as I was going through the training and as a doctor is that's not really the uh job description of a doctor. The job description of a doctor is to appear to be that person, but we don't always make decisions that actually help people at the very highest. And so part of what the field or the industry wanted me to do was diagnose people with psychiatric conditions and then treat them with the medicines or the treatment that they felt would best suit them. But I don't believe that that is the best treatment available for people who are uncomfortable with life. So, with that, I struggled for many decades as a doctor to being asked to do things that I wasn't aligned with, and then actually doing things that I was aligned with sometimes flew against the industry standards. And that got old, and over time I finally decided that I needed to be aligned with my own heart and soul and what I knew was

Why He Left Conventional Medicine

SPEAKER_00

right. And so then I eager uh, you know, over time I reduced my uh time and energy inside of the conventional field and then eventually stepped out and became somebody doing restorative care or the undoctor. Unconventionally and uh with unconditional love, we undiagnose people, unmedicate people, and then undoctrinate people so that they don't have to go to a doctor for their psychological discomfort.

SPEAKER_01

And when do you say undoctrine? What do you mean by that?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, by undiagnosing, unmedicating, and undoctrinating, meaning helping people get out of the medical system, out of the psychiatric system, into an area of life where they actually can be healed or be cured, because we've been taught that psychiatric conditions are not really curable, but that's not my experience at all. And with human connection and getting involved with people who uh can relate to you or or resonate with you or harmonize with you or connect with you, well, we can get uh cure rates and healing rates from conditions that were otherwise thought to be incurable.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's amazing. And how how long have you been doing this and what success they have?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I've been doing I think I've been doing this my whole life. Um, you know, we all know that the the highest thing to do, the best thing to do in this humanity um is to m you know connect with people because that's what we're doing right now, for instance. Uh, you know, we create connections with other people, and that's what we're drawn to, and that's what creates cure and healing and stability and optimization in life. So I think I've been doing this the whole time. But as far as like being an undoctor or maybe um uh designing my own approach inside the medical system, I suppose that that's been about maybe about twenty years.

SPEAKER_01

So you have been how long have you been out of the field?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, uh uh officially out of the field like with no with no tentacles in at all, only just a few months. I my last job was a few months ago, and um in March of uh 2026 I was asked to leave because they wanted me to keep patients and I wanted to discharge them.

SPEAKER_01

Jeez. So you wanted to discharge them, but they wanted you to keep patients for the money from insurance.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. Retention rate, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Sheez. So that's what started this whole path of and doctors.

SPEAKER_00

Well, actually, it's been going on it's been going on for years. It's the same at everywhere. It's nothing new, it's not new to this job, it's not unique, it's what medicine is about is creating ongoing perpetual patience.

The Undoctor Approach Explained

SPEAKER_01

So, for example, if someone's looking to undoctor themselves with a professional, what would they do?

SPEAKER_00

Well, there's I don't know that there's other people who are undoctor. I think it's what they would do is more than likely they would come in and instead of asking what's wrong with me, they might ask, is there anything wrong with me? And that's uh it's possible that there's nothing wrong with you at all, that maybe there was nothing wrong with you ever, even if you're highly uncomfortable or confused or sad or scared or angry. All of those things are regular human traits and do not suggest that there's anything wrong with us.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Um people ask me all the time because I've been diagnosed with um clinical depression and anxious anxiety. And yes, I'm on medication for and people ask me all the time, do you lose your emotions because you're on that medication for depression and anxiety? And I say no. And back to what you said, we should start asking people what they feel is wrong and instead of second guessing and and giving them a diagnosis and then shooing them out the door.

SPEAKER_00

Well, just because somebody believes there's something wrong with them doesn't mean that there is. So just because you're uncomfortable or scared or sad or worried or afraid or uh angry or confused, those are all those are all regular human traits and they don't suggest that there's anything wrong with you.

Insurance Incentives And Access

SPEAKER_01

So this new method of undoctrin, I mean, do uh obviously the insurance company doesn't like it, but how can people get a hold of you if they want to do uh retrovision with you because of the methods you're using?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, I don't know that the insurance companies like it or don't like it. I mean, for them, you know, it would seem that I would be saving them a lot of money and that they might like it, but they do tend not to necessarily support it because you know, insurance companies need a diagnosis in order for the doctor to get paid. So if people want to talk to me about how to get off of their diagnosis or off of their medications, they can find me on my website um at DRFred, drfred360.com, where they can book a discovery call. Or they can go to my other website, which is uh whoisdoctorfred.com, where they also can book a call.

SPEAKER_01

And and then if they'll write fit for you, what would you suggest they do?

SPEAKER_00

If what if they what now? If they're good fit if they like what the first one we do is we we create a powerful conversation, a resonating connection. I listen carefully to what's going on in their world and how they got to be who they got to be, and then uh from that connection we start realizing that maybe there was nothing wrong with them in the first place.

SPEAKER_01

Ah, so you're thinking that docs is over medicating people when they really shouldn't.

SPEAKER_00

Doctors are doing what, please?

SPEAKER_01

Overmed people when they really shouldn't.

SPEAKER_00

Well, y yeah, I think that medications are not the best line of treatment, that's correct.

SPEAKER_01

So what what do you think that is the best line of treatment?

Human Connection Over Medication

SPEAKER_00

Uh communication and connection with another human being is way better than anything that medicines could ever provide.

SPEAKER_01

Really? I'm shocked. I'm shocked, considering that doctors only spend five minutes with you with that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they that's the thing, is it it's not about connecting with a doctor, it's about connecting with anybody. Doctors are no better no better than anyone else at connecting with people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We we didn't learn how to connect in medical school, and and so you can get that connection even if you go next door neighbor or your friend or your daughter or your mom. Yeah, it's connection is what we're after. It doesn't have to be a professional doctor that connects with you.

SPEAKER_01

And they say um connecting with people releases uh in dolphins.

SPEAKER_00

One more time, please.

SPEAKER_01

I said they say connecting with people releases in dolphins in the brain.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna try uh try to ask you say one more time, please.

SPEAKER_01

They say in general um that connecting with other humans releases in dolphins in the brain.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. Endorphins get do get released when we're when we are connected with other people, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So that that is cool that you're using medicine well, I shouldn't say medicine, you're using the technique of connecting with other people.

SPEAKER_00

That's right, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

And so what have you seen a success rate?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, everybody. I mean anybody who feels like they've been heard and listened to and related to, whether they're been in prison for twenty years or nursing home or inpatient unit or out in the streets, when you connect with somebody, there's a fresh feeling of feeling of almost love, right? When somebody when you can talk to somebody and relate to them, there's a magical feeling of healing that actually takes place naturally.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

So um You already you already know that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Everyone should know that because Right Medication Medication actually masks feelings of how you're actually feeling.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So um isn't that interesting that when you say take away the medications, then it masks the feelings of how you're actually feeling and just human connection, um that's very, very uh you think about because um not only do medicines cause major side effects, they um mask the feelings you're actually feeling. And so um you're saying to look at human society as your medication.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, look for human connection as your medication. That's right. Yeah, and maybe there was nothing wrong with you. If you feel like something's wrong with you, you're gonna want to take medicine. But uh if you get that maybe there's nothing wrong with you, then you won't need the need to be fixed. And if you don't have the need to be fixed, you won't feel the need to take medicine.
